Malay Villa

The Malay is the most sensuous of buildings, it opens to the elements and the surrounding jungle is invited in. There is even a small window at the foot of the toilet for a bit of quiet contemplation. Two double beds are enclosed by Mozzie nets. A veranda out the front with a small fridge, table, and daybed.

 

Made Villa

The villa Made was Wijaya’s original Sayan home. Designed by Wijaya in the mountain style he calls Bali-Baronial. The thatched, split-level villa has a full bathroom on each floor and a small kitchenette. It is said to have been the scene of many a wild party with guests Mike Jagger and David Bowie.

 

Royal Villa

As featured in the book “ A House in Bali”, this villa was built on the spot of musicologist Colin Mc Phee’s original 1930’s Bali home, then designed by Walter Spies, Now it’s a vivid collection of colors with windows to the garden and a veranda overlooking the infinity pool that floats over the magnificent view.

 

East Villa

Wijaya had always loved the colonial 'Queenslander' style of Australian country house, wrapped with wide verandas; this became the inspiration for this villa. Full of contrasting colors and a unique sense of space, this villa hangs on a second level giving a sense of sleeping on the tree tops.

 
 

Croissant Villa

In 1980 French heiress and Balinese dance aficionado Agnes Montenay commissioned Wijaya to design a cottage in the former garden of musicologist Colin McPhee. The interiors are a unique Franco-Javo-Balinese blend. Architect Peter Muller and his wife stayed in Croissant Villa when designing the legendary Amandari hotel just up the road.

 

West Villa

This large villa also a Queenslanders inspired cottage, is wrapped with wide verandas and filled with details and art. A unique large outdoor toilet and connection to one of the Rooms, perfect for families.
